Brazed Tips for Enhanced Cutting and Long Lasting Performance

The carbide inserts are welded to the steel shank or body by brazing process, combining the advantages of carbide and steel materials, the tools have longer service life and higher cutting efficiency in the cutting process.

Description

Main Features

  • High hardness and abrasion resistance: The brazed tips are made of cemented carbide material with extremely high hardness and abrasion resistance, which can effectively extend the service life of the tools.

  • Reliable brazing process: The advanced brazing process ensures a solid connection between the tip and the cutter body, and maintains stable performance under high temperature and high pressure conditions.

  • Various shapes and sizes: Multiple tip shapes and sizes are available to suit different machining needs.

  • Cost-effective: Compared with solid carbide tools, brazed tips are more cost-effective and can be resharpened many times, which is economical and practical.

Material and Structure

  • Blade material: Commonly used brazing tip materials include different grades of cemented carbide.

  • Cutter bar material: The shank is generally made of carbon structural steel with moderate carbon content to ensure sufficient strength and toughness.

  • Structural forms: Brazing tips are available in various structural forms, including shank shapes such as rectangular, square and round, as well as tip shapes such as straight and elbow. The choice of these shapes depends on the specific machining requirements and machine configuration.

Manufacturing Processes

  • Pre-welding preparation: Check the blade for defects and clean the surface of oxidized layer and oil; choose suitable solder and flux; carry out necessary processing and cleaning of the tool bar.

  • Brazing process: Use high-frequency welding or oxygen welding and other processes to weld the blade to the shank. The welding process needs to control the temperature, flame coverage and welding speed and other parameters to ensure the quality of welding.

  • Post-welding treatment: The welded parts are heated and cooled slowly to prevent cracks; the tool is ground and trimmed as necessary to meet the processing requirements.

Applications

Brazing tips are widely used in machinery manufacturing, automotive industry, mold processing, aerospace and other fields;

Suitable for machining of various materials, such as steel, stainless steel, cast iron, alloy, etc.
